Our younger choir (Alleluia) is for ages 7-11, and our older choir (Gloria) is for ages 10-18. Children who are 10-11 may join either choir, depending on where their siblings are and what the conductor thinks is best.

This choir is for Christian homeschoolers. Families must sign our statement of faith (see “Our beliefs” tab) and be homeschooled, defined as doing school at home for at least 3 days a week.

No, the choir operates on a first-come, first serve basis. However, after you register, we will schedule a time for your family to come for what we call a vocal placement audition. It’s more like a meet-and-greet time for you to get to know the conductor, and a time for him to hear your voice individually to determine which vocal part you are and where your voice will most comfortably fit in the choir. It’s not a performance audition, nor does it affect whether or not you get in the choir. If you’re at that meeting, you’re already accepted!

We believe that Christians should pursue excellence for the glory of God—while our music is primarily sacred and classical, we hold to the same high standards of musical excellence as a larger, secular children’s choir would. Additionally, what makes our choir unique is the wonderful community; with faith and education in common, the children quickly become friends.

We choose predominately sacred and classical music. Stylistically, though, this ranges from very peaceful Mozart pieces and Rutter carols to upbeat spirituals. We include a variety of musical styles in each concert, so the children will learn and enjoy a range of pieces.

We have 12 rehearsals plus a dress rehearsal each semester. We ask that students plan on no more than two absences (vacations, field trips, etc.). We understand sickness happens and do not count sick days towards absences.
Regarding sickness, if your child has experienced fever, a sore throat, excessive congestion, or a recent rash/runny nose not due to allergies within the last 48 hours, please keep that child at home and let us know you’ll be missing rehearsals. If anyone in your household has experienced nausea, vomiting or diarrhea within the last 48 hours, please keep your entire family home and let us know you’ll be missing rehearsal.

We are Step Up direct providers, so any students who have funded scholarships may pay through the EMA portal.
If you do not have Step Up or your scholarship is not yet funded, please pay online through our store.
The materials fee is due as part of registration before the vocal placement audition, and tuition is due by the first rehearsal. We offer a 50% tuition refund for students who drop within the first month of rehearsals. The materials fee is nonrefundable.

As Step Up providers, we allow students to use state-funded scholarships directly to pay tuition and fees.
We are working towards creating a secondary scholarship for those who do not have Step Up and need financial assistance; feel free to contact us for more details.
