Laudate Homeschool Choir is a choir created by homeschool parents (themselves homeschool graduates) for homeschooled children in the greater Jacksonville, FL area. Founded in 2025, the choir seeks to train students in the beautiful tradition of sacred choral music, pursuing musical excellence whilst providing Christian community for the students. “Laudate” is the Latin word for “praise;” there are many beautiful choral renditions entitled “Laudate Dominum,” or “Praise the Lord.” We believe music is a gift from the Lord that ought to be given back to Him—a “sacrifice of praise,” as the Psalms say. We focus on learning sacred and classical works, utilizing solfege to teach students to read music.
